Teoman Duralı Conference Hall hosted the South Asian Culture and Literature Event, an initiative led by our Comparative Literature Department and supported by Umran Academic Research Association, on 26 December 2024. On the occasion of the event, Mr. Mijito Vinito, Consul General of India in Istanbul, accompanied by his delegation, paid an official visit to our President Prof. Atilla Arkan. During the visit, potential areas of further collaboration were discussed.
Within the scope of the event, started after the visit, a photo & book exhibition was organized, focusing on the South Asian culture and history, in order to raise awareness among the participants, on this geographical region. The program which continued with the speeches by Consul General Mijito Vinito, Our Vice-President Prof. Özcan Erkan Akgün, Head of Library Department Sönmez Çelik and Head of our Comparative Literature Department, Assist. Prof. Emine Hoşoğlu Doğan, was concluded after offering some local delicacies and screening of a movie, titled “Mirza Ghalib”.
