Our students Ömer Faruk Karakurt (BA in Philosophy), Sueda Can (BA in Comparative Literature) and Recep Yeşilkaya (BA in Islamic Studies) have been awarded a 12-month grant under the European Solidarity Corps - ESC 30 for their project titled ‘Seyiroloji’. The project, which received support from the Turkish National Agency, aims to raise awareness of young people in Türkiye towards different cultures and to develop their sense of empathy by enabling them to rediscover their own country from the perspective of foreigners.
The project team includes our students Ömer Faruk Karakurt, Sueda Can, and Recep Yeşilkaya, as well as Mehmet Salih Taylan and Melih Kağan from Marmara University.
Through the project, young individuals will be given the opportunity to view the outside world from a broader perspective, allowing them to understand and re-evaluate their own cultural values more deeply.
Within the scope of the ‘Seyiroloji’ project, the aim is to raise awareness of the places, traditions, and habits that local people pass by in their daily lives—perhaps without even realizing it—but that attract the attention and sometimes even admiration of foreign visitors.
