About IHU

Ibn Haldun University’s (IHU) motto is Intellectual Independence.

Ibn Haldun University aims to stand out as a "research university" in Turkey and in the world with the quality of education it provides and the research projects it conducts. Ibn Haldun University (IHU) is a foundation university founded by TÜRGEV. It was opened in 2015 and started education in the 2017-2018 Academic Year.

All education at our university is carried out in Fatih-Suleymaniye Campus (Suleymaniye Complex madrasas), Bakırköy-Taş Mektep Campus and Başaksehir-Ibn Haldun University Complex. Ibn Haldun Complex was built in Başakşehir, modeled on Ottoman madrasah architecture, and was commissioned in October-2020.

As of September-2024, there are 333 academicians and lecturers working at IHU, which has a distinguished and internationally recognized academic staff.

There are 9 doctoral and 22 master's programs within the Institute of Graduate Studies, and 1 doctoral and 1 master's program within the Alliance of Civilizations Institute.

18 of our undergraduate and graduate programs have international FIBAA accreditation.

We have application and research centers in the fields of Argumentation and Debate Studies, Conflict Analysis and Peace Studies, Ethics Studies, Hadith Studies, Haydar Aliyev Eurasian Studies, Islamic Economics and Finance, Psychotherapy, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Civil Society Studies, Oral History and Social Memory, Continuing Education, Savings Financing, Turkish Language Teaching, International Law and Human Rights and Dispute Resolution.

As of September 2024, 1,123 Turkish students and 724 international students from 79 different countries are studying at IHU, which has an international teaching environment. International students receive Turkish preparatory education. At IHU, where 996 of these students receive postgraduate education, it is planned that 75% of its students will be postgraduate (master's and doctoral) students in the future.

The languages of instruction at IHU are Turkish, Arabic and English. In addition, Western languages such as German, Spanish, Russian and French, as well as Eastern languages such as Chinese and Malay are taught as electives.
