Ibn Haldun University signed an agreement with Qatar University to enhance their cooperation, and utlilize the possibilities shared between the two institutions, including student exchange, in order to support individual growth and sustainable development in an economy based on knowledge transfer. The President of Ibn Haldun University Prof. Atilla Arkan, and Qatar University President Prof. Hassan Derham signed the agreement mutually, on Dec. 7. The agreement puts the foundation for the launch of a dual PhD program in Management provided jointly by Ibn Haldun University and Qatar University. This step is meant to contribute to the educational goals of both institutions by promoting active cooperation between them, and provide their students with a wider cultural diversity, reflected on their academic and educational activities. Prof. Atilla Arkan said in his statement, that Ibn Haldun University has seven faculties, including Humanities, Economics, Management, and Education. He added, "We are working on developing our relationships with Qatar Universityv, and translating it into actions, through students exchange programs, cooperation in studies and research between the two universities, and Professors' training and assistantship programs." For his part, Prof. Hassan Derham said in a statement "Our relationship with Ibn Haldun University started since the first day of its establishment, and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has paid a special attention to Ibn Haldun University and its promising project, especially its foreseen role in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences. He also added, "Through its role as a national university, Qatar University has focused on the development of the Humanities and Social Sciences field, and we have already started the development project a while ago, and the MoU between the two universities is a key step in working on our operational relations". Dr. Adam Fadlallah, dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics at Qatar University, said: "the Faculty of Management and Economics at Qatar University has approximately 5,000 students, which constitutes 20% of the University's students. It offers several programs, in master's and doctoral levels. There are several master's programs at the Faculty of Management and Economics, including Marketing and Finance programs, and soon we will include the master's program in Business Analysis, in addition to the joint doctoral program initiated by this agreement, and we look forward to further cooperation with Ibn Haldun University.
