This agreement, encompassing joint activities in the fields of education, research, and academia, was executed between our university and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University).
At the commencement of the International East and West Russian Language Week activities, our Board of Trustees Chairman, Prof. Dr. İrfan Gündüz, and our Rector, Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, hosted a delegation from RUDN University on Wednesday, October 11 2023. In the meeting, our Deputy Minister of National Education, Mrs. Celile Eren Ökten , and the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for education, Mr. Shevtsov Pavel Anatolyevich attended as well. During the meeting, both countries' visions for higher education and potential steps to be taken were discussed, and the satisfaction with this visit and discussions was expressed.
At the Ibn Haldun University Campus in Başakşehir, where the meeting took place, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding aiming at cooperation between the two universities.
The signed agreement will facilitate the establishment and enhancement of collaborative activities and partnerships in the fields of education, research, and culture between the two universities. Within the scope of this agreement, the development of Russian language education at all levels, exchange programs for students, academicians, and administrative staff, joint educational programs, research and publication activities, as well as scientific and cultural events are among the goals.
The "International East-West Russian Language Week" being held at our university, which will continue until October 13, features expert educators and academicians specializing in Russian language from more than twenty countries. The program includes workshops and conferences where experiences and effective teaching strategies in language education will be shared. Additionally, social activities will also be organized.
