Ibn Haldun University Sports Center was opened with a ceremony held on Friday, January 14th. The ceremony was held at the Sports Center with the participation of the minister of youth and sports of Turkey, Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, Minister of Youth and Sports of Qatar, Salah Bin Ghanim Al Ali, members of the board of trustees, students and academics.
The sports center’s opening ceremony witnessed speeches of each of Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IHU, Irfan Gündüz, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IHU, Prof. Atilla Arkan, the President of IHU, Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu and Mr. Salah Bin Ghanim Al Ali.
The Sports Center, whose construction was completed in Ibn Haldun University Complex of Başakşehir, will serve the people of the region as well as university students, academics and administrative staff.
The Sports Center, with its 215-person tribune, indoor basketball court, indoor carpet pitch, indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis court, wrestling hall, fitness centers, archery area, squash, sauna, steam room and salt room, has a total indoor area of 9,560 m2. In addition, the Sports Center embraces warming and dressing rooms, cafe, prayer room and first aid room.
