International Conference on ‘Navigating Complexity and Change in the Balkan’ Begins
The International Conference on Navigating Complexity and Change in the Balkans, which brings together scholars and experts from both domestic and international fields, began with the opening session.

The international conference titled "Navigating Compexity and Change in the Balkans" jointly organized by Ibn Haldun University, Turkish-German University, and New York Tirana University, began with opening speeches on December 5, 2024. During the opening session, Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mehmet Kemal Bozay, our President Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, President of Turkish-German University Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, and President of New York Tirana University Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş addressed the audience. The Conference, which will continue under the auspices of the Turkish-German University, aims to bring together scholars and experts from both domestic and international fields, providing a comprehensive analysis of the ongoing transformation processes in the Balkans.

In his opening speech, our President Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan referred to the close relationships our university has established with the Balkan region and emphasized the significance of the Balkan experience in terms of international relations. Expressing his hope that the conference, organized through the collaboration of the three universities, would be productive for all participants, the President also extended his gratitude to the presidents of New York Tirana University and Turkish-German University for their cooperation in this important event.

The main themes of the conference will include political stability, economic integration, social transformation, and regional cooperation. Sessions will be organized to provide a multidisciplinary perspective on the social, economic, and political changes in the Balkans. Through in-depth analyses of the region's historical background, current situation, and future prospects, participants will be presented with the latest research in the field. The event will provide opportunities for academic collaborations and the expansion of international academic networks for scholars, researchers, policymakers, and professionals working in related fields.
