Ibn Haldun University 2023-2024 Academic Year Opening Ceremony was held at Ibn Haldun University Complex on Monday, October 2. The ceremony, which was held with the wide participation of our Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, our Board of Trustees, academicians and students, was broadcast live on our corporate Youtube channel.
Our Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. İrfan Gündüz, who made the greeting speeches at the ceremony, mentioned that according to Ibn Khaldun, after whom our University is named, civilization is defined as the transformation of any subject, belief and thought into institutions that will heal the wounds of society by taking on an institutional identity, and mentioned that the development of civilization is through prophets. Prof. Gündüz ended his speech by advising the students that if they listen carefully to their professors, they can gain the experience they have accumulated over 50 years in one lesson hour.
Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, emphasized in his greeting speeches that we need not only doctors and engineers, but also social scientists, and stated that the mission of the University is to raise intellectuals who will lead the society.
Erdoğan added that he wished to be able to approach our goals faster in the continuation of this short period of time by adding many successes one on top of each other, and concluded his speech by thanking our professors who worked on this path, our benefactors who supported our University, and the students who believe in the bright future of Ibn Haldun University.
Speaking at the opening of the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan defined education as a concept that stands in the middle of the past, present and future, referring to our education system, which has made significant progress today compared to the last periods of the Ottoman Empire.
Emphasizing that with the proliferation and empowerment of digital learning tools, the role of teachers has transformed from knowledge transmitter to educational leader, Prof. Arkan mentioned that Ibn Haldun University is trying to establish a meaningful and mutually nourishing relationship between theory and field.
Prof. Arkan ended his speech by expressing his special thanks to the guests and Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin for their participation.
Delivering the Opening Lecture of Ibn Haldun University 2022-2023 Academic Year, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin stated that he appreciated the fact that Ibn Haldun University has established a dynamic, competitive and respected university climate as well as an institutional culture in line with the understanding required by our age, despite the very short time that has passed since its establishment.
Minister Tekin mentioned that our President's "World is bigger than 5" against global hegemony should be adapted to the philosophy of the Turkish Century as educators, and concluded his lecture by mentioning that the new education and training systematic, which will be based on a ground whose material infrastructure is largely completed under the leadership of our President, will be the most important element for the realization of the ideal of the Turkish Century, which he believes will be manifested as the age of education.
After the opening lecture, the ceremony ended with the presentation of gifts and the academic walk.
