The 2024 Academic Consultation and Evaluation Camp was held on the Island of Democracy and Freedoms between September 13-15 with the participation of our academics from all departments.
In the consultation and evaluation camp, which hosted productive sessions, the current academic situation of our University was evaluated and road maps for the future were drawn.
In the welcoming speeches of the camp, our Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. İrfan Gündüz stated that as a board of trustees, they had adopted the philosophy of developing by changing and changing by developing and that we are an institution with a deep-rooted civilization vision around the ideal of being a well-established university that connects the past to the future. Prof. Gündüz, who advised academicians to guide talented young people and hold their hands, mentioned the high rate of our graduates continuing their academic careers and finding jobs in universities and companies that have a say in their field in the world and thanked the academicians of our University in this context.
After Prof. İrfan Gündüz, Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, made a speech in which he emphasized the importance of further activation of research centers within the institution and stated that they strive for the progress of our University to be formed as a matrix of centers and departments. Erdoğan stated that the interdisciplinary studies that will continue to increase at our University are valuable both for us to become a research university and for our internationalization.
Finally, in his welcoming remarks, our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan emphasized that one of the reasons why the board of trustees established our University was to enable students to understand the world they live in comparatively and to transfer its historical accumulation. In his speech, Prof. Arkan stated that we are on the verge of a new historical transformation, giving the example of the disappearance of civilizations that remained alien to developments from the stage of history, and emphasized that today we are moving to an ecosystem based-on artificial intelligence, which is rapidly developing and spreading, and that we should not miss this, on the contrary, we should be able to own it and build the future. Prof. Arkan added that we have reached a certain threshold in terms of norms, systems, and processes in line with the goal of an international university, and the FIBAA accreditation received for all the departments we applied for in the 2023-2024 academic year is an important indicator of this. Arkan concluded his words by stating that he has not doubt that we will come to much better places like Ibn Haldun University.
At the 2024 Academic Staff Consultation and Evaluation Camp, administrative and academic units made various presentations about their fields. In the camp, a “10th Year General Evaluation Workshop” was also held under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nihat Erdoğmuş.
In the camp, certificates of appreciation were presented to our professors who have worked at our university for more than 5 years, and certificates were given to those who have been promoted. The academic staff of our 16 undergraduate and graduate programs, which are entitled to international FIBAA accreditation for the next 5 years, were also congratulated.
The Consultation and Evaluation Camp ended after productive consultations and social activities such as cultural tours.
