Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, met with our members at the event titled “Looking at the Turkish Century from the Perspective of Energy and Natural Resources”.
On Monday, April 29, 2024 at the Media and Events Center Event Hall, Minister Bayraktar informed the participants about the activities carried out intensively by the Ministry to reduce the dependence on foreign energy in our country, especially in recent years.
Minister Bayraktar, who took the stage after the welcoming speech of our Rector Prof. Atilla Arkan, said that energy security and climate change issues shape global energy discussions, and stated that as Turkey's economy grows, its energy demand also grows, and that efforts are continuing rapidly to reduce external dependence on energy. Drawing attention to Turkey's 2053 net zero target, Bayraktar noted that this will bring about changes in many sectors.
The event titled “Looking at Turkey's Century from the Perspective of Energy and Natural Resources” ended with the presentation of gifts to Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, by Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, Our Rector.
